Therapy in English in Prague 1 and online

I offer individual sessions for adults in English, Czech or Slovak. We can meet at my practice on Na Poříčí in Prague 1, or online if that suits you better.

What I work with

These are the areas I work with. If what you are dealing with is not on the list, write to me anyway. I will tell you whether I think I can help, or who might suit you better.

  • Psychosomatics

Pain, digestion, fatigue or tension that tests do not fully explain. I work alongside your doctor, never instead of them.

  • High-functioning depression

You keep everything running, but inside it has felt flat, heavy or empty for a long time.

  • Anxiety and panic attacks

Worry that will not switch off, panic that comes in waves, a body that is always on alert.

  • Imposter syndrome

Results that never quite count, the fear of being found out, and the extra hours it takes to keep that fear quiet.

  • Parents of teenagers

Consultations for the adult parent of a teenager who withdraws, avoids school or seems stuck. I work with you, not your child.

I am a psychologist, psychotherapist in training (Gestalt, Institut Dialog), working under supervision. I have worked with clients since 2009, first in hospitals and later in clinics specialising in psychotherapy and psychosomatics. Today I see adults individually at my practice in Prague 1 and online.

I believe each of us carries the potential to heal and grow. What matters most to me in therapy is a safe relationship built on trust, where you can say what you need to say without being judged.

Who I work with

I work with adults aged 18 and over, one to one. The topics I work with include anxiety, low mood, exhaustion, physical symptoms that seem tied to stress, and a nagging sense of not being good enough at work. I also offer consultations to parents worried about a teenager; in that case I work with the parent, never with the teenager.

I don't work with children or adolescents, and I don't offer couples, family or group therapy. I am not a doctor, so I don't prescribe medication or make medical diagnoses. If you need one of those, I can help you think about where to go instead.

Therapy in English

Sessions in English run the same way as my sessions in Czech or Slovak: 50 minutes each, at the practice or online, with the same approach. You can speak in your own words and at your own pace. If a word does not come, we find another way to say it.

Living in Prague in a language that is not your own can make ordinary things harder, from dealing with a doctor's office to finding someone to talk to about something private. You don't need to explain any of that in Czech here.

Therapy in English has its own rate, listed on the pricing page. I am not contracted with health insurers, so sessions are paid by you directly.

How it works

  1. Get in touch

Write to me through the form or by email, or give me a call. There is no online booking calendar. I reply myself and we find a time that works for both of us.

  2. First session

It lasts 50 minutes, in person or online. You tell me what brings you, I ask questions, and we both get a sense of whether working together makes sense.

  3. Working together

If we decide to continue, we agree on how often to meet. Each session lasts 50 minutes, and the rhythm can change as the work moves on.

About me

I studied psychology at Masaryk University in Brno and have worked in hospitals and clinics since 2009, including Motol University Hospital and two clinics focused on psychosomatics.

Questions and answers

What happens in the first session?

The first session is the same length as any other and costs the same. You tell me what brings you, in as much detail as feels right, and I ask about your situation. At the end we talk about whether to continue and how. There is nothing you need to prepare.

How often would we meet?

We decide that together after the first session. It depends on what you are dealing with, and also on your time and budget. The rhythm can change later on.

How much does a session cost?

A session in English costs CZK 2,000 and lasts 50 minutes. Sessions in Czech or Slovak cost CZK 1,700. Online sessions cost the same as sessions in person. The full overview is on the pricing page.

Will my health insurance pay for it?

Not through public health insurance. I am not contracted with Czech health insurers, so you pay for sessions yourself. If you have private or international health insurance, check with your insurer whether they reimburse sessions with a psychologist before you count on it.

Arrange a first session

A few lines about what brings you are enough to start. I reply as soon as I can, usually on working days.
